LastPass, a leader in password management technology, has transformed its enterprise offering to iDaaS, Identity as a Service, to include Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication.
The launch of new LastPass required a series of illustrations for email announcements, from customer on-boarding to nurture. Based on the list of email contents provided by the client team, total of 31 illustrations were created to represent the content of each email.

Elements from these illustrations were utilized to create a promotional video clip.
Although LastPass illustration style is strictly defined down to stroke width and spacing between dots in its brand guidelines, it made sense to look at all 31 illustrations holistically, rather than jumping directly to vector design tools.
Pages and pages of sketches were organized and then presented to the client in the format. This process allowed both parties to agree on, or make necessary adjustments to concepts, quickly.
It also made sense to develop unique icons for recurring themes such as password management, SSO and MFA, so that they become characters throughout the email series.
LastPass has distinctive illustration styles for B2B and B2C audience, with the former more abstract and latter more illustrative.
